The countdown is on!

Yikes! The second of August is sneaking up on me! Under two weeks till I will be living in Japan. Pretty much all of our prep stuff is completed, so now it is just sit back and let the anticipation build.

The last week has been mostly dedicated to the above mentioned prep work but there have been some distractions. Tessa celebrated her birthday last weekend. She is now over 2 and a half decades old - my old lady for sure. The birthday celebration was good, it didn't stack up to last years "moutain bike, beach, white water raft, steak house supper, brew pub evening in Jasper extravaganza," but it was still fun. We will call it the "sleep in, farmers market, geo cache, lie in the sun, bbq, dancing at a rough cowboy bar in PG extravaganza." Another distraction from the Japan prep was a little camping trip with Tessa's parents. We set out west of Prince George we spent a couple nights on a little lake called Champman, north of Smithers BC. It was nice to get out into the wilderness - in light of next weekend which will see me camping with 20,000 others in a field, and the next year which will see me living in a country of 130 million. We battled a little bit with bugs and rain and cold - we will call the battle result a draw.

Weather forecast is looking good in Pemberton - heres hoping the sun keeps shining!!!
